Paris: The Place du Vendome

This photo shows off the Napoleonic Colonnade, originally built by the emperor to celebrate his military victories in Europe. The Colonnade was later removed from this location for political reasons, then restored again. Also in the picture, some more modern sculpture which almost seems to be looking, along with us, at this imperious old structure. These are prime examples of grand public art in the heart of Paris.
