rippling steely pillars of wind
four clicks south of kyrgysztan
anxious g.i.'s packed in choppers
en route to a firefight
seemingly protecting causes
shrill and un-american
empowering some heavy-handed
tyrant in a distant land!
cia and state department
acting with aplomb …
laser beams directing giant
bunker-busting bombs
missing sometimes widely missing
wasting homes & families
turning tots & toddlers into
burned up ash and bones …
one cant help but wonder
what is this about
leaving plain folks mutilated
villages wiped out,
and what becomes of g.i. joes
falling in these skirmishes,
for what in gods name are folks dying …
worthless afghan dirt?
