the rough cut philosophy
that underlies
this poetry
dada dada dada
if you don't know what that is
where have you been
fauxbrow's the name
poetry's the game
fauxbrow culture i declare
shifting gears like
phred astaire
fauxbrow transcendentalist
seductio ad absurdum
stalwart visions
yes indeed
what on earth else
do u need
my world tumblesaults
& shimmies
outwardly head fakes
thinking this is half-baked
narrow minded ninnies
frowning at my book they say
"such work does not move me"
ninnies who exalt
a trendoid concept called
blank verse
"rhyme is for the birds" they say
"anything that's musical
has humor wit or wordplay
is not serious enough
has no substance
has no weight"
that's the attitude of late
milliscent i'm tired of these
highbrow ninnies
squelching belching
they're too scared
& overschooled & stuffy
with no taste for tastefulness
they distrust a rhyme scheme
that might involve laughter
a squishy musicality
that rightly swings from rafters
fauxbrow's bacchanalian flair
ninnies can not master
