how on earth to navigate
this foaming sea of dreams?
feeling vitriolic, waving hammers,
looking jittery … nailing down an inkling of
the utterly unknowable.

though his motivations impossible to find,
giving up and starting over
yet another time.

the hairs along his back stand up.
negativities profound.
sailors on the poopdeck say
this ship is going down.

worried of godzilla monster sharks
from here to shores unnamed,
fretful and unsure he's shrieking,
"i am through! i'll do no more!"

sailing into raging swells,
railing against neptune,

fearful of exacerbating ...
downward stabs the hail and rain,
flummoxed by survival instincts
slicing through his brain!

shipping out. he's shipping out.
shipping out. he's shipping out!
